Recently we decided to update our kitchen, this meant completely removing the old one and having a brand new one put in its place. In order to achieve what we wanted we needed our hot water cylinder, along with linen cupboard, removed. A wall had to be removed and quite a bit of touching up was to be involved as the old kitchen had gone right up to the ceiling while the new one would not.

We chose Southbuild because they were able to give us a complete quote including the plumbing and electrical requirements. All other quotes had been separate which meant I would have to liaise between all the different trades’ people. Southbuild arrived to complete the job exactly on time and with the minimum of fuss. I was impressed at the organisation and work ethic of all involved. Paul had everyone working together and ensured that everything ran smoothly. As we had a set date for the arrival of the new kitchen it was vital that things ran to time. When unforeseen events happened, as they always do, Paul and his team always kept us informed and would check with us every step of the way while also providing us with our options and their suggestions of how to deal with it.

Southbuild were able to deal with all areas of the alterations from changing our hot water system to Gas heated, organising the removal of the vinyl and having our rimu floor sanded and varnished, taking out an old wall, blocking up a redundant doorway, all the electrical and plumbing requirements, and even sorting out the venting for our new rangehood. Southbuild trades people were all friendly and efficient and completed all work to a high standard. I felt very comfortable discussing any concerns at any time and knew they would be dealt with straight away. We are very happy with all work completed and look forward to dealing with Southbuild again in the future.

We have a 1940s Californian bungalow and first approached Southbuild to renovate our bathroom.

Southbuild was recommended to us by a friend and their judgement has proven to be spot on. This first project was completed professionally, without fuss and to a very high standard.

The quality of this project gave us confidence to ask Southbuild to undertake an extensive addition to the entire back half of our house and to construct a new garage. Living on site while this extension was being undertaken gave us the perfect opportunity to see how good the Southbuild team was on a daily basis.

A strength of Southbuild is their problem solving ability. Adding an extension to a 1940s home means that one often has to think outside of the architecturally given square – plans are one thing; making them work in a current house is another! Southbuild always looked ahead and came up with innovative, practical solutions to challenges that satisfied all concerned.
